Just remember, they don't have as much going for them as you do.

You are usually the best at everything ... you strive for perfection.
You are confident, authoritative, and aggressive.
You have the classic "Type A" personality.

You are confident, self assured, and capable. You are not easily intimidated.
You master any and all skills easily. You don't have to work hard for what you want.
You make your life out to be exactly how you want it. And you'll knock down anyone who gets in your way!

You are a very lucky person. Things just always seem to go your way.
And because you're so lucky, you don't really have a lot of worries. You just hope for the best in life.
You're sometimes a little guilty of being greedy. Spread your luck around a little to people who need it.

You are friendly, charming, and warm. You get along with almost everyone.
You work hard not to rock the boat. Your easy going attitude brings people together.
At times, you can be a little flaky and irresponsible. But for the important things, you pull it together.

You are relaxed, chill, and very likely to go with the flow.
You are light hearted and accepting. You don't get worked up easily.
Well adjusted and incredibly happy, many people wonder what your secret to life is.

You are a seeker. You often find yourself restless - and you have a lot of questions about life.
You tend to travel often, to fairly random locations. You're most comfortable when you're far away from home.
You are quite passionate and easily tempted. Your impulses sometimes get you into trouble.

You tend to be pretty tightly wound. It's easy to get you excited... which can be a good or bad thing.
You have a lot of enthusiasm, but it fades rather quickly. You don't stick with any one thing for very long.
You have the drive to accomplish a lot in a short amount of time. Your biggest problem is making sure you finish the projects you start.

You are well rounded, with a complete perspective on life.
You are solid and dependable. You are loyal, and people can count on you.
At times, you can be a bit too serious. You tend to put too much pressure on yourself.

You are truly an original person. You have amazing ideas, and the power to carry them out.
Success comes rather easily for you... especially in business and academia.
Some people find you to be selfish and a bit overbearing. You're a strong person.

You are a free spirit, and you resent anyone who tries to fence you in.
You are unpredictable, adventurous, and always a little surprising.
You may miss out by not settling down, but you're too busy having fun to care.

What's" Your Name's Hidden Meaning?

The first paragraph reads: suave, sexy, smart, and strong. Oh no. We have a new nanny because Yaya Neneng decided to get married. I've been very busy juggling work, taking care of Ximo and with house chores.

Today we came from the doctor. Ximo had his first shot of rotarix and my asawa (spouse) tells me that the rotavirus is a scary disease without prevention.

Honestly I really don't care about the expenses on the vaccines. Sometimes I think about coping with the finances but... all I really care about now is that our son accomplishes the much-suggested vaccines including what some parents shy away from getting for their kids because of the costs that burn a hole in their pockets.

I reckon it's a matter of budgetting or scheduling expenses on our part.

Our top priority are his vaccines. His christening comes second, which, by the way, we still haven't set a date for.

Let me tell you about Ximo's nanny. Her name is Ruby. She has a good disposition. What I like about her is that Ruby is opinionated. She speaks out her mind, unlike other nannies that just nod their heads and say, "Yes, Ate (big sister)." Ruby says outright when she doesn't understand my instructions. I appreciate that. Very much.

Right now she is too careful to do things ahead of what I say. She waits to be told. This is understandable considering she's been with Ximo for only about a week. I expect her to change this once she gets the routine.

Our Ximo is fast becoming more of a little person each day. There are noticeable subtle developments like no more blank stares. He gradually recognizes his name when called out. He socializes, converses, talks back and initiates conversations. The pedia asked if he can roll over. I said that there's no opportunity for him because he often prefers lying on his back, altho he will raise his upper body from time to time. This surprised the pedia because he said that this baby milestone is seen at 5 months. Ximo is turning 3 next month. So the pedia suggested to integrate tummy time to test if Ximo will atempt to roll on his own.

The pedia also cautioned us on his weight. He's now 5.9 kg, a whooping 1.2 kg more since his last visit!

Here's a short video of Ximo socializing with us. The video was taken by my asawa. Enjoy!

my nanny goes on a sabbatical

my nanny left for her hometown for a one-month vacation that started today. these days mean i will be spent being ximo's beck 'n call girl. yaya neneng left this evening for her much awaited sabbatical. we already have a temporary nanny to cover her job.

i'm so excited to spend these days of quality hands-on time with my son. he's been growing a lot faster than i expected. i used to tell him to hurry and grow up already so i can play with him. well, you know the saying - be careful of what you wish for Ü

i think i got what i wished for because ximo is actually advanced by about a month. at 5 weeks, his growth & development is like that of a 2-month old baby. amazing, huh? and most experts agree that baby girls develop ahead of baby boys Ü

i think not Ü

shopping for wheels

today, we went out to buy baby furniture - a play pen and a stroller for ximo. i was so excited because we're finally shopping for baby gear! i've been doing my homework researching on what to look for in a good stroller. i also read on baby essentials - like what to buy and not to buy.

of course we wanted value for our money so we went to 3 stores before choosing.

shopwise sucat was the first to visit. but their strollers were unappealing. di maganda! and expensive to boot.

then we went to uniwide, also in sucat. but the store didn't sell strollers. so we decided to go to sm hypermart. that's where we spent for baby furniture.

first stroller we liked was an irdy. but i got feedbacks from an officemate that irdy wasn't a good investment. we settled for apruva. it was a couple of hundred more expensive than irdy but with the same features that we liked. it's a 3-way stroller with compartments at the bottom and safety lock features.

initially i thought of buying a playpen with a bassinet. but at the rate ximo is growing, he would outgrow the bassinet in a couple of weeks. really, weeks, not months! right now, he's only a month old but he looks like he's already 3 months. he grows so fast. he's going to be a tall person.

so, anyway, i decided to buy a playpen. the brand is cozi at only P2100. timing was right because of the sale on baby items.

with the playpen comes a free baby pillow. and then we had to buy beddings for ximo. we bought a set of 1 comforter, fitted sheet, a baby pillow and 2 baby bolster pillows.

while there, we were urged to enter ximo in the sm star baby contest. we had to purchase P5ooo worth of baby stuff, plus the requirements such as birth certificate, picture. prizes would be a P10K gift check and a modelling contract for baby company.

one essential item we forgot to buy was a nursing pillow. this would be a godsend while nursing.

i often look at celeb moms to check out their baby gear and i realized i want a baby sling! i still have to see one here in manila.

but i'm still thinking of buying a baby carrier instead of a sling. kasi it looks constricting and uncomfy for ximo. we'll probably buy one when he's a lil bigger.

and that could be just a couple of weeks from now. hehe.

life-changing chapter

march 12 of every year will never be the same again for me and my asawa. it's the happiest moment of our lives. finally we are a family of our own!

welcome to the family (or to the clan, as my asawa would put it), samuel timothy!
